Our staff are down-to-earth and approachable people who genuinely love connecting with people. They are gifted at sharing and teaching God's word in a way that's clear and makes sense. We're in this journey with you, and we're excited to see what God has in store for us!
REV. DAVE SIM
Lead Pastor
Rev. Dave Sim has lived in the Seattle area since 1989 moving here during the summer before his Freshman year in High School. He completed his undergrad at Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA. with an English Degree. After this, he spent 9 years on staff with InterVarsity helping to build up the Multiethnic fellowship and leading the staff team at the University of Washington. A few years after leaving campus ministry, Dave began seminary at the newly launched Seattle Pacific Seminary and graduated with his MDiv in 2012. While in seminary, Dave and his wife Janice launched a home group for young adults, which would be the beginnings of a church plant, Renew Church.
Dave and his wife Janice have been married for 21 years. They are proud parents to 17-year-old son Isaiah Jaeden and 11-year-old daughter Cameron Junia. Janice is a Physician Assistant with Kaiser Permanente and has been in healthcare for over 23 years. Dave is passionate, visionary, and has an enormous heart for the ministry of reconciliation. He plays Ultimate Frisbee with his league team, PuA.
AMANDA MOFFAT
Coordinator of Next Generation Ministries
Amanda Moffat is originally from Southern California but moved to the beautiful Pacific Northwest to attend Seattle Pacific University and never left! She received her Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Master of Arts in Teaching before completing her Master of Arts in Theology with a Christian Ministries concentration in June 2025. She has a heart and call to serve all of God's children and youth by helping them to be seen, heard, known, and loved in an empathetic relationship filled with joy, patience, and acceptance into the full Body of Christ. Amanda is passionate about integrating children and youth into Sunday worship while, also, creating spaces for them to engage in age-appropriate Biblical learning environments in which curiosity and creativity drives their encounter with Jesus and Scripture.
Amanda is the mother of Anders (3) and Sylvia (1) and has been married to her college sweetheart and best friend, Ethan, for over 10 years. Along with their human children, they additionally have 3 cats named Anakin, Obi-wan, and Penelope and a tortoise named Lawrence. They love going to the Woodland Park Zoo and ride their bikes as a family. If Amanda ever gets a self-care day, it involves going to an art museum, getting her nails done, and eating sushi.
